My pharmacist says that the Prescription Discount Card won’t save any money – what should i do?
From time to time, pharmacists or pharmacy technicians confuse the Prescription Discount Card with other less-credible discount programs or drug coupons. Your Pharmacist will not know what the savings will be until the prescription is sent for pricing via the Pharmacist’s computer. To do this, he or she will need the Rx Group # and Rx BIN # on your card.
You can always check the pricing yourself by going on our website and checking our online drug pricing tool or by calling our customer service number and asking one of our personal prescription price shoppers for help. If your pharmacist isn’t honoring the listed price, then call us right away to intervene on your behalf. Check out this recent blog post for a specific example of a Discount Drug Network cardholder who had trouble using her Prescription Discount Card, and how Discount Drug Network’s customer support team helped her get the savings she deserved by finding another participating pharmacy nearby!
Discount Drug Network works very hard to constantly negotiate the best prices for our members and, as a Prescription Discount Card holder, you are entitled to your benefit. If your Pharmacist does not want to comply with the program, you should consider going to a pharmacy that honors the card. Participating pharmacies can be found using our “Pharmacy Locator” tool.
Don’t forget – ask your pharmacist to save the Group and Bin #’s from the Prescription Discount Card in his computer so that it’s stored for convenient use on your next visit.
