It is good for the heart, the brain, your tooth enamel, it helps control blood pressure, and it is full of antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. So eating one or two pieces of dark chocolate three days a week is actually going to help your health. 
Clearly eating vegetables is going to help you lose weight. Levitt writes about a study that was completed by Penn State researchers. They added purred vegetables to mac and cheese, and the participants ended up eating 200-350 calories less. Cauliflower and zucchini were added to this meal. Both of these vegetables are high in fiber making the partakers from wanting to eat more. Putting protein in your diet as well will help you lose weight. When having protein based breakfast one is more likely to eat less throughout the day. Levitt mentions that was a study done on obese women. When they ate 35 grams of protein in the morning they felt full right away, making them eat less throughout the day.
Nuts are another food that helps with losing weight. Now nuts mostly contains fats but that necessarily doesn’t mean a bad thing. Eating fats should be a part of your diet. It is all about portion control. If you eat about 1 to 2 ounces then you are good. The best kind of nuts to eat are peanuts, almonds and walnuts. Walnuts especially because they are rich in omega 3 fatty acids. Also nuts are a good source of protein, vitamin E, and other antioxidants. 
Eating apples are also proven to help lose weight. Now we can cheat with eating applesauce or drinking the juice here. One of the reasons is both of those products contains lots of sugars, which can actually cause one to gain weight than lose it. Also the actual fruit contains fiber and physically chewing it sends a signal to our brain making us wanting to eat less.
Yogurt is another food that will help you lose weight. Yogurt contains probiotics which are good for the digestive system. When we can digest food properly it makes it harder for our body to gain weight. Last but not least Grapefruit. Levitt mentions “researchers at the Scripps Clinic in San Diego found that when people ate half a grapefruit before each meal, they dropped an average of 3 1/2 pounds over 12 weeks. Drinking grapefruit juice had the same results.” If you are taking certain medications please speak with your doctor and read the label on your medicine bottle before eating this food. There are certain medications out there that can have a bad reaction if mixed with grapefruit.
